Jurassic caravan park

Don't judge a book.
06/03/2014
Don't judge a book by it's cover, so the saying goes and Ladram bay is a very good example - if you are a photographer. If you have never been there, then you will not have driven along the narrow country road which then turns into a vast caravan park complete with gift shops, cafes and every other amenity a family needs for their ideal holiday. As I paid for my parking and drove on through the static caravans my partner asked 'are you sure this is it'? The start of the Jurassic coast? I hoped it was. It was early March, they had only just opened for business and as often happens in March it was very hot. Tee shirt & shorts hot, not dressed for proper landscape photography weather but I toughed it out. We gathered our gear and set off following signs to the beach & cliff top path. Passing through the narrow gap in the cliffs the beach revealed itself, bright blue sea, red sea stacks & cliffs and hundreds of sea birds getting ready to pair up and nest, oh and not another person in sight. Is this the start of the Jurassic coast? If not it should be.
